How do we assess your organization’s current strengths and provide recommendations for future success?

Challenge

Code for America is a national coding project focused on ensuring government accountability and transparency in fastly growing digital age. Their prominence in this space, however, is quickly being matched by other coding projects and nonprofits seeking to influence equitable policy changes at all levels of government.

Code for America asked KMSG to support with:

  • An assessment of their strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats in their space

  • Recommendations for how Code for America can distinguish itself from other nonprofits in the sector

  • Tools/how-to’s to set themselves up for success on social media platforms beyond their partnership with KMSG

Context

KMSG accomplished the following:

  • Created an extensive communications assessment that analyzed their work and success to that of other organizations in their sector

  • Presented to prominent members of the Code for America team, providing key recommendations for how they can improve their digital/social presence with organic and paid content, and set KPIs for long-term success
